Levels

A character's level is a representation not just of the amount of time they have spent in an environment (though characters who do spend a great deal of time in an environment are often higher level than those who do not), but also of global fame and influence acquired through action. Levels are achieved by acquiring Influence over time. At certain points of Influence gain, a character's level will increase. Whether or not the level increase has any bearing on a character's actual stats and skills depends on whether the character is in a level-based or point-based environment.

In a level-based environment, characters gain 10 points of Health and a total of 30 points distributed between Physical, Mental, and Social whenever they increase in level. The character will also gain 1 point of Myth with each level increase.

In a point-based environment, a character does not gain any statistical bonus when increasing in level.

At certain levels, characters gain a new 'title', indicating their level of fame/influence within the environment. These titles are given to characters in both level-based and point-based environments and are the only indication of character level that other players will see. The table below lists each of the 24 levels in RPS and the Influence required to reach each level. The Myth Bonus column applies only to level-based environments.
