Release Date: 4/21/2010

  • 1.00.20 is the final version of Open Beta and replaces RPS 2.10.02. RPS 2.0 has now completed its life-cycle and will be disabled from this point forward.
  • Updated RPS 3.0 to take advantage of some minor advancements provided by SL Server 1.38.1
  • Characters who switched languages could not switch back to 'Common' with their IC-talker. Now solved with the option of choosing "Common".
  • Minor interaction errors (such as not being able to bring up the Character Menu without first removing and re-attaching the HUD) solved. This solving of errors is also anticipated to solve remaining overhead meter -> HUD -> overhead meter communication issues (such as overhead meter coloring and misrepresentation of rank).
  • Nocturnal characters received a total-health debuff AND took damage as day arrived, which was an unintended double-penalty. Now they will only receive the total-health debuff.
  • Increased damage capabilities with Unarmed and solved a situation in which one's Unarmed ability did not appropriately read into damage adjustment with Unarmed attacks.
  • When a character trained Endurance, Robust Health would display as if trained as well, though it was not actually trained.
  • RPS 3.0 has been overly susceptible to SL difficulties with recognizing when a character is "flying", "running", "sitting", etc. While it is an SL issue, significant code changes made to improve this situation because ... well ... it's better to work around an SL issue than try to wait for it to be solved.
  • When manually setting levels via the website, Influence did not automatically update to levels appropriate for the new level - resulting in level-adjusted characters who did not also have their influence updated via the web either losing/gaining levels back toward what their influence represented. Influence now auto-updates when levels are changed via the web.
  • Players could not update their character via the web, as the website incorrectly recorded them as attempting to make admin-level changes. Solved.

KNOWN ISSUES THAT WILL BE SOLVED SHORTLY WITHOUT NEED FOR UPDATE:

  • Website-based updating of skills is not propagating correctly down to the in-world HUD. The result is that skills changed via the web (due to earlier Beta version misfortunes or other situations) may cause an appearance that all is well - but upon region-transition or other change (teleport, etc) skills revert to old values or - in rare cases - find themselves representing new and rather interesting values. The solution in this case is based 100% on the web-end and will not require a HUD update to solve.

KNOWN ISSUES PURPOSELY LEFT UNSOLVED:

Influence gain/loss and victory/defeat increase from combat and/or defeat through other means are purposely turned off for the duration of RPS 3.0 Open Beta. We have it turned off so that players may continue experimenting with RPS 3.0 without losing anything. It will be turned on when RPS 3.0 exits open beta.
